Senior Pastor: Scot A. Conway

Scot Conway grew up in a “semi-Christian” home. He was sent to church with his grandfather at a young age, but he did not personally accept Christ until the age of 18. After a couple of years of stagnation, he started to grow spiritually. He was discipled and attended classes at Christian Heritage College while also a student at San Diego State University. He started reading his Bible cover to cover, listened to thousands of sermons from a variety of denominations, and read a great many books. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1988, from Thomas Jefferson College of Law in 1991, and from Great Plains Baptist Divinity School in 2000.

His first mentors and pastors were Tim Elmore (now president of www.GrowingLeaders.com) and John Maxwell (now a well-known author and president of www.MaximumImpact.com). Conway continues to rely on their resources heavily.

Conway did not come to pastoring by conventional means. He is the founder of the Guardian Martial Arts, a series of Christian Martial Art systems that include life lessons. There are more than 300 lecture topics, many of them spiritual, and they are available as part of the downloads for members through www.GuardianAcademy.com.

You can learn more about his teachings and beliefs at his personal ministry site: www.ScotConway.org.

Conway recognized that many traditional positions held by the church created many problems. Certain in his belief that God is a Genius, he searched the Scriptures for answers and found that many traditional teachings were not necessarily true. He considers himself a conservative Christian who treats the Bible as the Word of God, but he is also skeptical of many traditions that seem to contradict God’s character. Thus, Agathos is a Church for the One in Ten.
